Experience That Shaped ZAP

ZAP Pest Control was founded in Calgary in 2015. Its founder’s pest-control career began with Orkin Canada in Calgary in 2001, where much of his work involved commercial accounts. He later worked with a smaller Calgary pest-control company focused heavily on homeowners and residential service. Experience in both settings broadened his understanding of commercial pest-management programs and the individual service needs of homeowners and residential properties before he launched ZAP.

Certified, Field-Experienced Technicians

Every ZAP pest-control technician holds a current Alberta Structural Pesticide Applicator certificate. The technicians who answer customer calls also work in the field, so customers can speak with someone who has practical experience assessing pest problems in Calgary homes and businesses.

New technicians train under senior ZAP technicians and continue developing their knowledge through Alberta Pest Management Association education events and relevant online industry training. Team members may also attend National Pest Management Association PestWorld events when appropriate.

ZAP Pest Control is a member of the Alberta Pest Management Association, Canadian Pest Management Association, National Pest Management Association and National Wildlife Control Operators Association.

Professional Coverage and Employee Standards

ZAP Pest Control is registered with WCB-Alberta and carries $5 million in commercial general liability insurance. A current WCB clearance letter and certificate of insurance can be provided upon request.

ZAP’s pest-control and wildlife-control services are performed by ZAP employees rather than subcontracted service providers.

Prospective employees complete a Calgary Police Service Police Information Check and driver’s abstract review as part of ZAP’s pre-employment screening process.
